In our winemaking, we see ourselves more as "preservers of nature" and "innovators"—with this philosophy, our winery is now a highly praised newcomer among Serbian winemakers, standing for exceptional taste and the highest ecological quality. Abundant sunshine, a balanced climate, and our calcareous soil shape the character of our fine, limited-edition wines.
Located in the far east of the country, at the tripoint of Serbia, Romania, and Bulgaria, lies the Negotin region and our beautiful town of Recica. The tradition of winemaking has been cultivated here for over seven centuries. Besides its outstanding natural beauty, its proximity to the Danube and Timok rivers, the Đerdap National Park, and the Jovan and Miroč mountains, Negotin is also characterized by an unusual climate with exceptionally warm summers and cold winters – pleasant for people, favorable for fruit and vegetable cultivation, but above all, excellent for winemaking.
The Jović family estate is idyllically situated in the small village of Recica in eastern Serbia, not far from the Danube bend and the Derdap National Park. Here, grandparents Milan and Milja Jović laid the foundation for our winemaking tradition. Many years passed until their grandson Stanislav revived the estate in 1999. Today, he manages the 10-hectare vineyard together with his children Nicolas, Andrej, and Tatjana, the next generation of Jovićs.
Primitivo, produced from the eponymous grape variety grown on a plantation near the village of Recica, is characterized by a style that differs from its southern Italian counterparts. Warm summers allow the grapes to achieve high sugar content and complete phenolic ripeness, while the freshness of summer nights prevents overripening and preserves its natural acidity. It is easily recognizable by its intense aromas of wild blackberry jam, dried plums, cherries, black pepper, and sweet spices. The wine is exceptionally full-bodied and high in alcohol content, yet remains harmonious and balanced thanks to the freshness brought by the Danube's microclimate. The finish is long, warm, and velvety.
This wine is characterized by a deep ruby-red color and pronounced aromas of black currant, blackberry, cherry, and plum. Thanks to the warm days typical of the Kladovo area, rich notes of ripe fruit have developed, while cooler nights preserve freshness and elegant acidity. Aging in oak barrels develops aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate, tobacco, and cedar. The tannins are mature, full, and velvety, with a long and mineral finish, accompanied by subtle spicy tones shaped by the Danube terroir.
Crna Tamjanika represents a fusion of the variety's autochthonous character and a modern approach to winemaking. Aromas of forest fruit, blueberry, blackberry, and ripe sour cherry dominate, harmoniously intertwined with floral notes of violet and the variety's signature frankincense tones. The proximity of the Danube and the pronounced temperature differences between warm days and cool nights help preserve the wine's aromatic complexity and natural freshness. A special dimension is added by a carefully crafted blend with a measured share of Začinak, an old Krajina variety known for its pronounced spicy aroma and lively structure. Začinak does not dominate, but discreetly enriches the wine with notes of black pepper, clove, and Mediterranean herbs, while contributing additional freshness, elegance, and a long-lasting finish. The result is a medium to full-bodied wine with fine, ripe tannins and a long, layered finish in which fruity, floral, and spicy notes alternate in perfect balance.
This rosé is created through a careful blend of Pinot Noir as the leading variety, with smaller shares of Crna Tamjanika and Gamay, giving it a distinctive style that sets it apart from classic rosé wines. It is precisely this carefully measured blend that gives it a fuller, more intense color – an elegant shade of unripe sour cherry with a subtle copper glint – as well as greater aromatic complexity and a more pronounced body. On the nose, aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, ripe cherry, and pomegranate unfold, complemented by discreet floral notes of wild rose and acacia. The small share of Crna Tamjanika brings subtle floral-spicy nuances and additional aromatic complexity, while Gamay contributes juiciness, fruitiness, and a soft texture. The influence of the Danube microclimate is reflected in preserved freshness, clean aromas, and pronounced minerality. This rosé unites the elegance of Pinot Noir, the aromatic character of Crna Tamjanika, and the fruitiness of Gamay, creating a wine that faithfully reflects the terroir potential of the Rečica vineyard and represents the winery's signature style.
This wine is distinguished by intense and refined aromas of elderflower, lime, grapefruit, green apple, and freshly cut grass, harmoniously intertwined with subtle mineral notes. Thanks to a microclimate with pronounced differences between day and night temperatures, the grapes retain their distinctive varietal aromas, lively acidity, and exceptional freshness, giving this wine remarkable elegance and longevity. On the palate, the wine is dry, fresh, and full-bodied, with a harmoniously balanced structure and vibrant acidity that accentuates its fruity character. The taste is dominated by citrus notes, green apple, and subtle nuances of tropical fruit, while pronounced minerality and a gentle saline tone, characteristic of vineyards influenced by the Danube, add to its complexity. The finish is long, refreshing, and elegant, with persistent citrus and mineral notes that leave a clean and exceptionally pleasant impression.
Chardonnay is distinguished by a brilliant golden-yellow color and a rich, layered aromatic profile dominated by scents of ripe pear, peach, melon, and citrus fruit. Thanks to the favorable terroir and the influence of the Danube microclimate, the grapes reach full ripeness while retaining natural freshness and pronounced aromatics. On the palate, it is full, rounded, and creamy in texture, with a full body and exceptionally good structure. Lively acidity, preserved thanks to the cool nights during the ripening period, brings essential balance and makes the wine rich yet never heavy. The finish is long, creamy, and mineral, with persistent notes of ripe fruit, leaving an impression of elegance and harmony characteristic of the finest examples of this variety.
Grappa is a traditional Italian brandy produced by distilling the remains of grapes after the winemaking process. This brandy is known for its rich aroma and distinctive taste that reflects the grape variety from which it is made. Grappa is often consumed as a digestif, after meals, and can be served neat or in combination with coffee or chocolate. Its production requires careful selection and preparation of the grapes, as well as precise control of the distillation process to preserve the aroma and quality of the brandy.
